Windows 10: Setup.exe close after a moment

Hello,

Here is the problem : I am running a setup.exe installer, but after a while the program will close on its own. I'm not getting any alerts, error messages, just the window that closes. I have this problem for all installation programs, I can only install small files before the program stops, and sometimes I can install large files by saturating the RAM with google pages but it does not work not always.


I tried a lot of solutions, like a full system scan, antivirus settings etc. but nothing changes, I still have this problem.

Thanks for your help.

Unfortunately it did not work.

The MS support walked thru similar steps, we even reinstalled, deleted the folder but with no resolution.

It is strange because this happens specifically on folders that have .exe programs. I can access other folders.

The programs within the directory are listed and about 20 seconds later it closes.

Regarding your concern with the deleted Modern Setup Host file, we’d like to ask the following questions so we can isolate it at the same time:

• What particular action that you’re trying to perform at the time that it was accidentally deleted.?
• May we know where and how it was deleted on your computer?
  
• Were you able to check if the deleted file can be found in the
  Recycle bin?

As an initial step, we suggest that perform a DISM command. This will help repairing possible system file corruptions. Follow these steps:

• Type command in the search box.
• Right-click on the result and select Run as administrator.
• Type this command: DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth
• Press Enter.
• Close the Command Prompt windows and check if changes were made related to the Modern Setup Host file.

We'll wait for your update after trying the steps.

 

rundll32.exe opens and closes continiously

All this started back in early August, or about the time "Windows Creator" was installed.
I have sound notifications for processes that open or close, a paranoia from long ago, or I would have never known this was going on.

rundll32.exe continuously opens and closes (1-2sec intervals) when a "windows explorer" R click menu is pulled up. I can pull up "MS Process Explorer" and it all stops. Found the culprit process by 1st pulling up "Process Explorer" and then R click on any icon pinned to the taskbar. I could then see the process open and closing.

I'm sure someone will suggest to simply just turn off the sounds for opening and closing, but I like to know when something is happening that is not normal, and a continual opening and closing of a process is not normal.... Normally all is quiet.
