    Setup wrong admin user.


    When setting up my husband's new laptop, I erroneously set it with my Microsoft account. How do I reset the laptop and start over with his ID?

    Hi, I appreciate the continued suggestions as to how to delete the unwanted user,
    theco.

    Note the screen shot following the net user command

    the user i wish to delete " theco " is not listed....what would be the next step.....

    You can reset the Admin Password using Windows XP repair; See Here for step by step.

    • How many user accounts are setup on the PC?
    I suggest you to check if issue persists in Hidden Admin account. Follow the steps to enable Hidden Admin:


    • Press Windows key + X.

    • Click on Command Prompt (Admin).

    • Type ‘net user administrator /active:yes’ and press Enter.

    • Now check if issue persists on the Hidden admin account.
