I keep getting BSOD/crashes, and event viewer seems to give the same report. However I can't seem to find a source for the problem. Can anyone point me in the right direction so I could find a solution? Since installing 'Update for Windows 10 Version 1511 for x64-based Systems (KB3116278)' I am experiencing intermittent BSODs and want help sourcing the problematic driver.

I don't think the issue is hardware related because my laptop is a Dell XPS 13 2015 edition only bought in August.

Any pointers welcome. I have already contacted Dell for help.

  3. Location service is greyed out

    Hi Shahriar,

    Thank you for responding.

Sorry for the inconvenience caused for you, I suggest you to try the below troubleshooting steps and check If it helps.

Step 1: Steps to turn on the Location settings.

    • Login as an administrator.
    • Press Windows key, type Location settings and select
      Change location settings.
    • Check whether Location for this device is On by clicking on
      Change
      .
    • Also turn on Location as well.

Step 2: And as you are unable to set the service Geolocation service to automatic, I suggest you to run SFC scan and check.

System File Checker is a utility in Windows that allows users to scan for corruptions in Windows system files and restore corrupted files.

    Follow the below steps:

    • Right click on the Start button, click on
      Command Prompt (Admin).

    • Type “sfc /scannow” without the quotes and hit
      Enter.

    • After the scan, restart the computer and check for the issue.

Try to set the service to automatic by following the steps provided in the above post by Praveen Venugopal.

Hope it helps. Kindly update the status of the issue, we will be happy to help you.

Several BSOD, source listed as 0x00000050. Need help locating issue

    AMD FX OC'ers Club

That's what the auto setting will do since you're over the 1333 mark it jumps to the next step which isn't listed or officially supported I assume by that ram.

At this point though I would suggest dropping the multi one step or .5 so that we can get something stable and possibly take the heat issue out of the picture for now.
