Several Kernel Errors within a day?

There is no reason why Windows would ask for a key, in most cases a digital entitlement is registered on the servers of Microsoft which registers the hardware you're using. This makes that you could install Windows 10 infinitely without problems for activation, because when Windows checks the servers for activation it sees the digital entitlement. Only if you change the motherboard you would have to get a new key as that is seen as a new system.

I'm wondering where that question came from *Smile

I was thinking of a factory reset. Just for a clean boot I go into MSconfig right? No need for safe mode while I do the clean boot I assume

A reminder of how to perform a clean boot *Smile
    Please try the following:
    • Open taskmanager
      • Go to the tab startup
      • disable everything
    • Search msconfig and open it
      • Go to the tab services
      • Check 'hide microsoft services'
      • Uncheck all other services
      • Click apply and click ok
    • Reboot if asked, if a reboot isn't requested then something isn't done right.

Several Kernel Errors within a day?

Could you run MemTest86+ again please, if it doesn't find any problems it is a driver issue (again) and I think that we then might go into a loop for catching drivers and I would like to prevent that with suggesting a clean installation.

MemTest86+ needs to be run for at least 8 complete passes for conclusive results. Set it running before you go to bed and leave it overnight. We're looking for zero errors here. Even a single error will indicate RAM failure.

Make a photo of the result and post it.

    Addition:
If errors show up you can stop the test, remove all sticks but 1 and test this single stick in each slot for 8 passes or until errors show, switch sticks and repeat.
If errors show up and you see them a lot later, no problem, the errors don't affect the test.

I would like you to perform a proper one, but that will erase everything on your hard drive so I recommend to backup all data you do NOT want to loose to an external HDD.

Just a FYI in case you don't know, a clean install won't cause any problem with activation *Smile

I have an empty one around. Looks like I'll have to back up my goodies. It may take some time though.. Also thanks for clarifying the activation! It was a concern of mine.

The activation is in most cases an upgrade, with the upgrade the hardware of the user is registered on the servers of Microsoft. This registration is called a digital entitlement. When you perform a reinstallation Windows checks the servers of Microsoft to see if any digital entitlement is present and if the right OS is installed that is with the digital entitlement, if all is fine Windows is activated without entering a key. This all makes that you can reinstall Windows an infinity amount without any activation issues *Smile

BUT, when a motherboard is changed it is seen as a new system and then you have to input a key when installing.

I think I got mostly everything backed up. I assume I wouldn't need anything relating to Windows since it would just be put back on.

Anything from Windows will be put back yes, if you've made configuration changes those will be lost.

Okay. Then I'm all set! Is there a resource that I can be directed to in order to understand how to clean install?
