Windows 10: Several New Word Documents open when Opening Discord

Hello! In the last few days or so I've had a very weird issue that I've never seen before. I run Windows 10. On my taskbar I have shortcuts to both the Discord app and Microsoft Word. When I turn my laptop on, I click the Discord shortcut to open it. Discord will open, but so will 7-10 new Word documents along with it even though I never clicked anything regarding Microsoft Word. This always happens when I turn my computer on and open Discord. Microsoft Word does not open upon startup; it does it only when I try to open Discord the first time after turning my computer on. I have no idea what's causing this or how to fix it. This started after I did a system restore from a recovery point due to a Windows update that screwed up my internet connection with my laptop. I'm assuming this weird bug has something to do with that recovery point, but I have no idea what's going on beyond that. Does anyone know how to fix this so I don't have to deal with this every time I turn on my computer? Thank you!

can not open word document


I just upgraded office 2007 to office 2016. On all of my fils that I made with my older version can be opened with 2016. But if I create a new document with Word 2016 and save it, when I try to open it a message pops up telling me that this is valid only with installed products. When I open it, I do have the option to "open with". I can choose 2016 and it opens. When the option "open with" comes up I would think that there would be another choice that says "always" open with but it doesn't. So nest time I have to go through the same steps to open it.This happens only with Word but not Excel. My OS is windows 10.

Cannot open Word document sharepoint 2010

As per the issue description you are unable to open Word document using SharePoint 2010 from Internet Explorer. If the issue is with Word only then you may try the steps provided below and see if it helps.

• Open a blank word document.
• Click on File on the top left corner.
• Click on options.
• Click on Trust center.
• On the right side, click on Trust center settings.
• From the left drop down list, click on protected view
  and uncheck all the selected options on the right side. For more clarification you may refer to the screen shot provided below.

• Click on OK.
• Now try to open Word document and see if it helps.
