Windows 10: several services are listed with their service name as their display name and "Failed to...

I just upgraded to Windows 10 Pro, and wanted to test the Sandbox feature, but it just doesn't run when I click on the icon. no error, just simply doesn't run. I searched and someone suggested to stop/start several services, which I couldn't find, but then found the service names instead.


I ran sfc /scannow in an elevated command prompt, but it found no issues.


Some suggest a registry entry was deleted, but i don't want to dig too deep and make things worse.


How might I go about restoring proper functionality to the services and hopefully to Sandbox?

“IIS admin service” fails to appear in the list,

“IIS admin service” fails to appear in the list,

I couldn’t figure out how to restore “IIS admin service” as it doesn’t show up in the list.

What might be the issue here?

User Profile Service Service failed! User profile cannot be loaded.

I am using registry editor from command prompt. Drilled down to c:windows\system32\config inside the Load Hive dialog window. Have selected (checked box) the SAM file; clicking on Open opens error message that says:


SAM
This file is in use.
Enter a new name or close the file that's open in another program.

I am at a loss, since I am not running any other program!

Any suggestions?

The SAM file is listed as being 64KB file size.

 

Changing the Log-on/Display name

To change your sign-in screen name on Windows 10, follow the steps below:

• Use the Windows key + I keyboard shortcut to open the Settings app.
• Click Accounts.
• Select Your email and accounts.
• 
  Hit the Manage my Microsoft Account link to open the web browser and load your profile.

  In the main page, click the Edit name link.
  
• 
  Change your name and last name, and click Save.
  
• 
  Restart your computer.
  

Note: It is important to know that following these steps, you will also be changing the name on your outlook.com account and other Microsoft services, as well as the account name that is connected with your Microsoft account.

In line with this, you may also create a new account name on Windows 10, follow these steps:

• Type user on the search bar; then, click User Accounts.
• Click on change your account name option; then, change the name and check if it helps.
