Windows 10: Severe issues on Dell Inspiron 15 7548 after KB4499167

Hi. Wednesday evening, after a normal day of work with my laptop acting perfectly fine, it decided to install updated without my knowledge while I was out on a walk. When I got back, I went to my laptop to look up some info and it was off.. it would no longer boot at all. I click the power button, it seems that it's going to start for about 2 seconds, then it shuts off. Over and over and over.


I initially thought something was wrong with my motherboard, but testing shows it's fine. I've done all the testing with battery and power supply - that's not it either. I removed the 2 8-gig RAM cards and replaced it with one 4-gig and, when the computer is upside down with the cover off, I'm able to boot it up after pressing the power button anywhere from 6 to 8 tries. I've run full diagnostics and no hardware errors appears at all. The system checks out fine.


So, pre-update.. life was good. Post-update.. I'm missing work, a weekend and now more work.. I'm kind of peeved.


I need a full list of all drivers that this update touched so I can go back and try to roll them back one by one. I'd love to simply uninstall the update, but from what I can tell that involves rebooting which is not easily done on this system now at all.


I'd really appreciate the help.

Touchpad is not working on Dell Inspiron 7548

The touchpad on my Dell Inspiron 7548 suddenly stopped working. And when I went to check the device manager I could not find the touchpad driver anymore. I also checked the settings and couldn't find the "Trackpad"
option there either. How do I fix this issue?

Hi, I'm having some issue on Dell Inspiron 7548 Laptop. Issue is sporatic. Sometime it happens and sometimes it doesn't. Keyboard would all
of the sudden type in upper case, when the CAPS lock is not on. Even more strange, is when you press one of the number on the number rows on top, the symbols comes out, like if the shift key is stuck. In addition, when I click on 1 file to select it, it selects
all the files. Like i'm selecting multiple files, but I only want to select just 1. Only a reboot or reset temporary fixes the problem. then it just randomly comes back.

Anyone have Any suggestions???

 

Windows 10 results in repeated Internal Power Failure in Dell Inspiron


Please suggest me something I'm unable to run my system in safe mode,
I have the same dell inspiron 7548
Updated windows 10 from Windows 8.1.

Any help would be appreciated.
