Windows 10: Severe mouse lag when opening the any Windows Settings menu Windows 11

Hi all,For about two months my computer suffers severe mouse lag whenever opening the windows setting menu, to the extent that the computer has to be restarted in order to use the mouse.The computer remains fully stable and I can navigate menus etc with the keyboard.I have also noticed that I am unable to open the calendar by clicking on the time in the task bar, when clicking on it, it pops up and immediately closes.To avoid people telling me to do things again, I have run sfc/scannow, I have used windows built in repair functions, I have removed and reinstalled all drivers, I have turned off

Hi,

I've had issues with severe mouse lag in the past week or so. No new software was installed recently. I've checked and all my updates are to date. I can toggle just fine and everything else is working well EXCEPT for my mouse.

Any suggestions?

Finally, someone who understands. I started this thread a long time ago, and my mouse lag problem after installing Windows 10 is still not fixed. BAD SOFTWARE and BAD MANAGEMENT is when I need to try dozens of different suggestions from multiple folks
suggesting they found a fix to mouse lag. For God's sake I tried turning off Cortana, and that does not fix the problem. Even if it did fix the problem (which is doesn't) why should I have to turn off anything to make Windows 10 not cause my mouse to freeze?

Fix

The problems can be fixed pretty easily.

For Windows 7 users. (for different OS's usable but these steps refer to Windows 7 OS)

• 
  Go to your Control Panel.
  Go to Hardware and Sound
  Then go to you're Mouse settings. (It's in the blue text under Devices and Printers)
  At the Mouse settings menu you go to the Pointers Tab
  
  
  
  
  On this tab you just have to disable: Enable pointer shadow
  
  Press apply and you're done!
