    Severe reboot issues in Windows 10 version 1909


    Hello all...


    With the latest Windows 10 security update for version 1909, it would not install. It ran through the long process of installing, then rebooted, but then got the screen image that changes were being rolled back because the update did not take place. Tried it several times, all to no avail.


    However, after the last reboot during those efforts, my PC would no longer can reboot into normal mode, no matter what I've tried. I tried to reboot into safe mode and only after a half dozen tries did I manage to get it rebooted into "safe with networking" mode where I am now as I type this.


    I've tried looking up everything I could. One even person even recommended that I check if fast reboot was enabled.


    I even tried to do a recover reinstall of Windows 10 since mine is an OEM machine, but I kept getting messages that it was unable to do this. I'm guessing since I was in safe mode that it was not able to do this.


    Then I tried finding the following registry to key to see if fast reboot was enabled or disabled:


    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager\Power


    In that registry key - the only end file I could find indicated "Power" and nothing else. I could not access anything else there no numbers, no words indicating fast boot, etc.,.


    In the meanwhile, since my Windows 10 reinstall file is corrupted I believe, I ordered a Windows 10 disc from Microsoft which should get here within the week.


    My immediate question is how to repair that registry file shown above so I enable or disable fast boot?
