Windows 10: SFC and DISM Errors

So I was running an SFC /scannow
And got the some files are corrupt but cannot be fixed etc.
So I did the dism restore heath, and it can't find source. So I did the scan health, check health, reset Base, restore health from local esd source and limited access, changed group policy to use Windows update instead of WSUS, and nothing works. DISM still can't find a source, even though I am pointing it to an esd file from a windows 10 iso.

Anyway to get this to work?
I don't want to refresh / reset because I've got like 500GB of steam games, and last time I backed them up onto a hard drive etc and moved them back after resetting, even though my games were there it decided to attempt to download them from scratch again.

So can anyone help me to get DISM working? Thanks

I got it.

1. This is the CBS log from SFC

Your dism .......> restorehealth said " source files could not be found" because your ISO was downloaded from Media Creation Tool which gave you the Install.esd.
You need the Install.wim which can be obtained by downloading the ISO from Tech Bench.

Once you have the iso downloaded, right click at the ISO > click Mount > leave it there.
Then open the elevated command prompt and copy and paste this................

Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:H:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

Note : H is the drive where the iso is mounted. Change it if your driver letter is different.

When it is completed, you should get the report that the operation is successful.
Now run the sfc /scannow again. It should be ok this time.

 

I always wonder if everyone has updated to 10586 and not still on 10240...

If you run Steam Games, are you running and have you updated the Nvidia driver? If so the file causing the error may be opencl.dll. This file should be fixed if DISM is used as suggested, although I ended up mounting the install.win and pointing DISM to that folder. If it is that file, it may not be a problem if you don't get that fixed.

If it doesn't get fixed for whatever reason, we can track down what file it is.

 

It's still saying it after that too

You have to enable signature view in your forum control panel

 

If you can also post your CBS.log here, can be found in C:\Windows\Logs folder. Determine files can not be fixed and if related to this OpenCL.dll issue with Graphics drivers.

 

No disrespect is intended.
I need to be sure you do understand my instructions and that you have followed them to the letter.
1. Did you MOUNT the iso downloaded from Tech Bench.
2. Please post back here the dism command line you actually used.
The example I posted was this............
Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth /Source:wim:H:\sources\install.wim:1 /limitaccess

I would like to see what is yours.

Disrespect all you like it was me being stupid. It's worked! Thank you! Going to try SFC now. Why does mounting work differently than just extracting the iso and pointing to the files?
