Windows 10: SFC finds errors, says it fixed but on reboot crashed to BSOF

    SFC finds errors, says it fixed but on reboot crashed to BSOF


    Went to use my desktop after a long absence and it crashed to BSOD before ever displaying windows.I ran sfc and it found errors and said it repaired them but on reboot crashes again.I tried running a repair install but it fails about half way through.I tried running sfc from the new install but it checks that install and not the original.I tried running sfc /scannow /offbootdir=d:\ /offwindir=D:\windows but that returned 'Windowx Resource Protection could not perform the requested operation'I successfully installed windows to a different drive but I really need to recover the original.
