Windows 10: SFC fixes problems but only temporarily...

Hello,Under Windows 11 23H2, I have been having certain problems for the last several months:Videos stall, and stutter. With that, there is a loud, low frequency hum 'seems sixty cycle. My mouse cursor goes wild. It flies all over the screen, and the mouse can't be used. The keyboard randomly repeats, so if I type "Help" it might appear onscreen as "Helllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllllpppppppppp."I have read many suggested solutions, and tried 'em all with no success, until I tried one of the simplest, and ran SFC /Scannow from the elevated command line after a reboot. SFC errors - how to identify/fix?

As one (not particularly hopeful) step in trouble-shooting a problem (Cortana not opening reliably) I used sfc /scannow from an elevated command. At its conclusion I got this message:

"Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. Details are included in the CBS.Log windir\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. For example C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log. Note that logging is currently not supported in offline servicing scenarios."

I opened that log file - but it's 52,000 lines long! How could a user be expected to isolate it from that? More important, what are suggested ways for me to proceed please? Apart from ignoring the unidentified problem(s).

Yes, it does. The sequence you describe is common.

Troubleshooter only fixes Windows Search temporarily for 5 seconds

I rather suspect if this is what you see:





(Screenshots always help.. - unfortunately your video doesn't seem to play) - then the last one probably only reflects that I've specified something is failing (which it isn't in my case). Somewhat misleading. Note that Settings does not give a recommended troubleshooter suggesting no problem has been noted.

How reliable that is in suggesting there's no issue is of course another matter. If you look at any of the details which may be shown by the troubleshooter, is anything specific indicated? (Click 'Details' where available).

Would be helpful to show screenshots of a. items in your start menu you can't find b. how you are searching and the result.
