    Share sub folders in onedrive


    I have shared a parent folder in onedrive in office 365. when i or the shared user creates a sub folder, this is not synced and does not display. how do i set onedrive so as any sub folders and content are automatically synchronised with other users?

    Thank you for writing your query in Microsoft Community. I would like to have some more understanding to the issue so that we can diagnose and work on the issue faster. Kindly provide me the following information:


    • Where are you trying to create a sub folder is it on mail app or other application?
    If it is mail app, unfortunately there is no option to create a sub folder in Mail app, I would suggest you to share your feedback in Windows Feedback app.

    Thanks for that response - and I see what you mean, but it does not solve the problem as if you have multiple main folders, setting up a separate folder to house the stuff you do not want to share is a bit cumbersome - but you are right - it has to be a work around, as right now I do not think MS supports this - however google drive does allow this, so....

    You could also just share only the sub-folders, but Just to further explain the reason I do not want to use the method of only sharing the sub-folders is that I want the people I share with to have / inherit the folder structure I set-up - so for example:


    • 0001 - main folder 1
      • letters
      • photos
      • receipts
      • bills

    • 0002 - main folder 2
      • letters
      • photos
      • receipts
      • bills
    Is what I want on my drive and sync'd to my PC - and when I share with people, I want them to use / have the same folder structure - but just not have access to the " bills " sub folder.


    If I only share the sub-folders - then as you can see, there will be no way to know this is part of the main folder 0001 or 0002
