Discus and support Shared network drive disappears on Windows 10 lock in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; Hi, I am using Windows 10 with a mapped network drive.     Shared network drive disappears on Windows 10 lock


    Hi,

    I am using Windows 10 with a mapped network drive. Everytime, after locking the Windows using "Win + L", when I log in the mapped network drive disappears. To bring the network drive back, I have restart the system every time. I have tried restarting the server and have run Gpupdate as well however, the problem still persists.


    Would be grateful if anyone could help with underlying problem for its cause and solution.

    Pressing “Windows+Pause Break” (it’s up there next to scroll lock) opens the “System” Window.

    Windows 10: In the new version of Windows, Explorer has a section called Quick Access. This includes your frequent folders and recent files. Explorer defaults to opening this page when you open a new window. If you’d rather open the usual This PC, with links to your drives and library folders, follow these steps:

    • Open a new Explorer window.
    • Click View in the ribbon.
    • Click Options.
    • Under General, next to “Open File Explorer to:” choose “This PC.”
    • Click OK

    Cannot access shared network drive


    I could scream! so much time wasted on this stupid error, as if time is not precious enough!
    It probably would work fine if I could see the other computer! But I cannot see the other computer!

    Shared drive "disappeared"!!

    The most recent update to Windows 10 was on October 17, but I'm fairly certain the drive did not "disappear" until the 26th. I don't know what else to tell you. I am not at all an expert on networks. This is a network shared drive.
