Windows 10: SHARED NETWORK WENT MISSING/ DISSAPEAR

Hi. I am using Windows 7 Professional. I have created a network to be shared with my colleagues. My PC is the admin. We have been uploading our files there and unfortunately, we did not save the documents to our own PCs. However, suddenly the network is gone along with our files. There was no problem with WIFI or our PC. The shared network cannot be found anywhere. I have tried restarting the router and troubleshoot. Is it possible to find back the network and the file? Kindly help me.

Network File Dissapearance

Network with a server (windows home 2008) has maybe 8 computers on it. they share a folder on the server for files. Recently they've noticed files have dissapeared, and i can't figure out why.

The files share is on a RAID 1 setup, but the partitions aren't quite the same, so there is a possibility.

Also recently, and possibly unrelated to the issue above, files have been popping up on a computer on the network's trash bin and my documents from other random places.

how could these things happen?

Thanks for the suggestion. It didn't look at all familiar so I looked around some more and found what I was missing. I forgot to do the "Add a network location" steps. Now it appears under Network.

 

How to change icons of network share folders?

Okay, I may be under-complicating this, but I use shortcuts to my network shares very effectively, to give each shared folder its own distinctive icon. That's what larc919 suggested in #3 above.

I have a folder of Network shortcuts in my Start menu apps list, and each shortcut bears its own badge.
