Windows 10: Shared printer Driver download Windows 11

Our company started testing Windows 11 on our new equipment and we've stumble into a few bugs that we thought was worth communicating with the community.Adding a shared printer from a windows 2012 r2 print server from a windows 11 a new laptop Lenovo T15 asks to download the printer's driver and to do so, you need the admin credential. so far so good When we enter the local admin user .\Administrator , the device gives an access error. Windows cannot connect to the printer. Access is denied. If you grant your domain user local admin, it will download the driver as usual.I believe

Step 1: Go to store.
Step 2: Buy a less shitty printer.
Step 3: Pick up some beer while you are there.
Step 4: Enjoy both your new printer and your beer.

In all seriousness, I have had more issues with Lexmark printers and their shitty drivers then any other manufacturer, HP is a close second though.

However, if you don't want to get a new printer*Laugh :laugh:, and I can understand that, when my Lexmark was giving me the same troubles in Win7(and Vista) I had to make sure the Windows firewall was ON and the firewall service was enabled and running. After I shared it I could re-disable the firewall and firewall services.

Yeah, I have windows firewall disabled, and I don't use any other firewall... mostly to prevent stupid issues like this.

Printer driver unavailable after printer install in windows 10

Hi,

I would suggest reinstalling the printer's legacy drivers.

Here are the complete steps to do so,

1. Press Windows+R and type in control printers

2. Right click the printer with the issue and choose properties

3. Go to the web services tab, save and copy the IP address under troubleshooting information as a reference to the printer's IP address

4. Close the window and right click the same printer

5. Choose to remove device

6. Go to start/search and type in hdwwiz.exe and open the application

7. Choose the option "Install the hardware that I manually select from a list

8. Locate printer and choose next

9. Choose to create a new port and choose standard tcp/ip port

10. On the hostname type in the IP address from the printer that you've saved from step 3

11. Choose the option "Replace the current driver"

12. Choose printer name

13. Choose the option "Share this printer so that others on your network can find and use it.

14. Let the printer install for 5 minutes
