Windows 10: Shared System Memory

Hello,I updated my pc From windows 8.1 to Windows 10 10240 because I am still running an HDD for Boot-up. One thing I noticed was that before installing the Graphics driver the System shared memory which is half of your RAM 4gb = 2gb shared memory is 7GB because I have 14GB of RAM. After the Installation of the GPU Driver I restarted my Windows and it Shows me only 3GB of Shared Memory, Total 4GB. Why is that so? is there any way to Fix this issue? I have used Windows 1909 and 21H2 and the Shared System Memory was 7GB, Total Available 8GB. Only reason I switched back to 10240 ver of Window

System Shared Memory

Hi,

I have this issue:

I installed a new GPU on my PC (GeForce GTX 1050 Ti) and after that my System information has changed so..

Before:

Installed Memory (RAM): 16.00 GB

After:

Installed Memory (RAM): 16.00 GB (7.95 GB usable)

Now I have 2 questions:

• is possible decrease or disable the Shared System Memory? (I can't from bios)
• in my video card info the Shared System Memory amounts to 4070 MB where are the others 4 GB of my RAM..
  why only 7.95 GB usable an not 12 GB?

System Reserved Memory issue

The reduction in available system memory depends on the configuration of the following:

• The devices that are installed in the computer and the memory that is reserved by those devices
• The ability of the motherboard to handle memory
• The system BIOS version and settings
• The version of Windows 10 that is installed
• Other system settings

As an initial troubleshooting step, I suggest that you check your system for memory problems.

Here's how:

• Type mdsched.exe in the search bar and select the best match.
• When prompted by the User Account Control, enter an admin user name and password, and click
  Yes.
• Follow the on-screen instructions to run it.
