    Sharing a Public Hotspot to a Secure WiFi Router


    Here's my situation. I'm full-timing in an RV. Every time I pull into a new campground, I have to connect all of my devices to the campground WiFi.

    I have on hand a dedicated laptop and a Netgear R6250 router. I also have a WDMyCloud network storage drive.


    What I want to do is use the laptop to connect to the RV Park WiFi and share that connection via ethernet to my Netgear router. This would allow me to have all of my devices already connected to my secure SSID, but also have internet connectivity via the public internet connection.

    I need to ensure that my devices are not accessible to everyone in the campground, as there are sensitive documents on the network drive.


    Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    • Which Windows version is currently running on your phone?
    • Are you able to connect your phone to other public WiFi hotspot?
    • What troubleshooting steps have you tried so far?

    Hello everybody! I have a concern that someone is accessing my wifi without my permission. I haven't given anyone my password and I keep seeing a hotspot connection that is linked to my wifi. This troubles me because I have checked all my wifi capable devices
    and none of them have personal hotspot turned on. For some reason my computer connected to the hotspot automatically last night so I "forgot" the network connection and reconnected to the original connection. Since then I haven't seen it in the available connections.
    I haven't done anything to secure my wifi connection, other than the original password protection, and am wondering if there is a way to make my router more secure so that this doesn't happen anymore.

    WiFi Hotspot Problem in My Laptop


    Hi, I have installed windows10 pro in my laptop. I used window8 before it. I was able to make wifi hotspot in my previous windows8. But in this windows10 pro I can not use wifi hotspot with my samsunggallaxy s3 phone. I have used several types of wifi hotspot creator software, like, my wifi router (I used it before), my public wifi, baidu wifi, virtual router and with COMMAND Prompt. Phone is showing connected, but cannot access to the internet. Please help me.
