  1. Sharing files using peer to peer networks error "Destination folder access denied"

I want to share files between a PC and a Microft Surface BookSB that are on a home WiFi network. I've been unable to get other methods such as one through File Explorer and OneDrive and have run into other issues with them. The article "Windows 10 sharing all files between computers" describes using a peer to peer connection for sharing. It was written over a year ago. The instructions show steps and screen that are not available in the Windows 10 that I am using.

By poking around in control panel, setting, and web articles I've "progressed" to where I actually trying to connect to the SB from the PC. That gives me "Destination folder access denied."

I don't remember setting up security for my WiFi network, but I did have a technician help me with that and I didn't take very good notes!

Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated.

    :)

Powershell or DOS commands for diagnosing peer to peer network

It would seam we would have some tools for diagnosing 1903 share problems. ipconfig net use net start ping. For a share to work I PC needs to belong to a workgroup. I get a IP address is involved somehow and in a way a network \\computername\share is representation of a IP address in some way. When a PC refuses to show up under networking Possibly DOS or Powershell Commands could be used to start a share or create a share. And then make a bat file that would sync up files. ? There must be a list of requirements that must be met before a share can be made and their must be a way to check each of these requirements on each PC in order to narrow down what might be the problem. Right now on this 1903 win 10 when I type in "net view" I get a system error 6118 - that means a server can not be found probably because a firewall is blocking it. I do not have server I am just trying to do a peer to peer share.
when I type in netstat it finds a lot of things . The thing is when I search for this stuff most of the time I do not know if it will apply to 1903 windows 10 peer to peer file sharing. My basic need is to be able access the hard drive on this on the computer in the other room.
    THANK YOU

Peer to peer network application sharing

    Hi Steve,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

I see that you want to share the Past Perfect museum application on peer to peer network.

However, for better clarity, when you say “Share an application”, do you mean that the application installed on one computer, is required to be accessed by another system in the network?

Ideally, if you want to run the application on multiple systems, most applications need to be installed on all the systems that wants to run it. This depends on the type of environment again, such as virtual environments.

Researching further on the application, it seems that there is a feature of
    Past Perfect Network Upgrade
    available.

“The Network Upgrade allows you to install the program on multiple workstations and share access to common data files residing on the main computer or network file server. Changes saved at one workstation are immediately seen by all users.”

I would also suggest you to check with the application manufacturer for additional features available.
