Windows 10: Sharing folders broken after Feature update to Windows 10, ver 1709

hi guys,

so I was searching for the past 3 hours for a concrete solution for this... here's the scenario, I have one win10 PC and 2 win 7 PCs over Ethernet, all working decently, until today I noticed that the other win 7 comps cannot see the win 10 comp under the network... after fiddling quite a bit I came across these suggestions:

Look for the following services in the list:

· DNS Client
· Function Discovery Provider Host
· Function Discovery Resource Publication
· Peer Networking Grouping
· HomeGroup Provider
· HomeGroup Listener
· SSDP Discovery
· UPnP Device Host

1. I reset each of these settings FROM "Manual" TO "Automatic" one by one.

Which actually did the trick of making the win10 machine "appear" under network list but then I cannot access the shares. tried to reset services, few other things but what makes it work is if I go under the network card and tick / untick the "File and Printer sharing for Microsoft networks", then it magically works..

it's not great but it does the job for now.... anyone has any ideas? I can tell this happened after the Fall Update, version 16299 that I did not too long ago...

After windows update now asking for credentials

Hi

I have had 4 clients with the same problem. No passwords on any pc's and a central shared folder. The windows keeps asking for credentials to access the shared folder.

I have tried all on the Microsoft site but to no avail Windows 10 Pro ver 1709 build 16299.98

Please could you help

 

After update to windows 10 ver. 1709 cant restore from suspension / sleep mode

I have the same with ver.1709.

-Trying to do clean install 1703- wake up from S3 works.

-update 1703 to 1709 - wake up brokened and pc after wake up- 2-3 sec- turned off

clean install 1709 - wake up brokened

I think problem may be with nvidia drivers ( my card GTX 1060 6GB) , trying default from WU and latest 388.00 in 1709 with not succes
