Windows 10: Sharing OD live.com link with specific Gmail users

I'm trying to share a link to a file in personal OneDrive live.com with "specific people" who are Gmail users and do not have a Microsoft account. It doesn't seem to be possible. Is there a way to make this work?

Thanks to bro67...Interestingly enough the Gmail link to this forum reply actually worked, as did your link to "How to Fix....." I tried steps 1 and 2 without success. Step 3 gave me the following screen, which didn't look like the article described. At any rate, the probem is unchanged...screenshot follows.

 

Link Cortana and gmail

• What is the Version and Build of Windows 10 installed on the PC? (Type
  winver in Windows search/Run command)
• Are you aware of any changes on the PC prior to this issue?

We are researching on this issue and reproduced the issue on our lab machines and found that after entering Gmail username and password, it gives the allow option and later in Cortana when we click on Agree. It will circle and will
stuck there.

We would suggest you to create a new administrator user account and check, refer this article to
create a local user or administrator account in Windows 10.

Cannot access shared network drive

I could scream! so much time wasted on this stupid error, as if time is not precious enough!
It probably would work fine if I could see the other computer! But I cannot see the other computer!
