  1. Sharing Options don't stay set for guest or public profile

Multiple times over many years on different computers I have turned off "Network discovery" and "File and printer sharing" for the Guest or Public profile only to find it turned on again when I check the settings.

Is there a reason why it gets reset? What is the default setting when connecting to new netowrks?

Windows 10 Guest Account appears to mess up Public Folder settings

I reinstalled a Windows 10 Pro pc over weekend, it just has local accounts, no Microsoft accounts. I turn public folder sharing on and switch off the password requirement in Password Protected Sharing. This worked fine initially, network connections all
    ok.

After a while I noticed that the Guest Account had appeared in the account list shown via the Windows Start button(but Guest account doesn't appear on the start up screen). I disabled Guest in Computer Management. The day after I get users asking why they
can't access the Public Folders, it's asking for a password.

After digging around I find that every time I disable the Guest Account, it disappears from the Start Menu list, only to reappear later and reset the public folder sharing options to default(so requiring a password).

So for now I just left the Guest account alone! Anyone seen this before, is there a fix or is it just another windows glitch?

  3. Shared PC Guest Account as default Login Option

    Hi there,

I am in a project to deliver a public use Guest Kiosk Windows 10 cloud first InTune managed device. I am leveraging the Shared PC functionality and the Guest login with account maintenance to clear the profile on log out (I have a idle logout task). I've
set the Account Model to 0 which is said to be Guest Only the CSP documentation.

Is there a way as least default the Guest account as the log in option as Other user always is on top as seen below.

Other user is nice to have as these will have Azure AD admins but Guest needs to be default for public no-password logins.

Shared PC Guest Account as default Login Option

    Thanks,

As I am using the Shared PC CSP policy I have not been following the manual Vistor \ Guest creation and group addition steps. I am using the built in Guest with this policy which even appears differently on the login screen with a square icon compared to
    the manually added Guest:

The lovely thing about this Guest account is the profile is randomized on each login , and I've been using the account management option to clean out the profiles on log out.
