Windows 10: shift only typing symbols when I press the symbol a 2nd time like the ~~ ""

so as the title says, I'm not sure what I did but now when I shift type certain symbols I have to enter them twice for them to show up and they then show up double..

example symbols: ~~ ""

so what happened and where do I put it to work correct?

Yes, it does have them.



Whilst typing your message (using the alphanumeric keypad) press the * (star) key to bring up a list of symbols, you will see the brackets and the £ symbol is there if you scroll down.



If you use mini qwerty or full qwerty press the symbol button which is marked "1*" then press the shift button (upward pointing arrow) to reveal extra symbols like the £ sign and brackets.

Why is it when I use the shift key, does the wrong symbol come up, for example £ is supposed to be a hash symbol.
