Windows 10: Shockwave Player crashes constantly after KB2267602 Version 1.427.772.0

Hello,Today I installed the "Security Intelligence Update for Microsoft Defender Antivirus - KB2267602 Version 1.427.772.0" on the Current Channel General.After rebooting my system Windows 10 Home, Version 22H2, Build 19045.5737, I noticed an issue:When attempting to play Macromedia Shockwave Player movies that contain embedded Flash SWF objects, the Plugin-Container of Basilisk version 20250422154345.win32 crashes upon loading the movie.The used Shockwave Plugin: Adobe Shockwave for Director Netscape plug-in, version 12.3.5.205This problem didn't happend before the update.I would re

Excuse me if this has been asked before, please point me to appropriate thread. I recently noticed Internet Explorer 11 and Firefox crashing when attempting to download and install newer Adobe Shockwave player from Adobe - Adobe Shockwave Player I used Shockwave uninstall utility without success. I then tried to use the utility and then browsed to folder "C:\Windows\Syswow64\Adobe\Shockwave 12" and ran the uninstaller found there as well to delete the remaining files and folders. I did manage to install Adobe Shockwave successfully again both in IE and Firefox, but I now have a strange issue. When I go to Adobe Shockwave test site: Adobe - Test Adobe Shockwave Player I see that the installation was successful in Firefox. In IE I see the same and after 1-2 second I get an error that IE stopped working (see screenshot below). A quick Google search suggested to disable hardware acceleration in IE, tried that, didn't work.

Have you seen this issue before? Any help appreciated. Should I use a Registry cleaner (I'm afraid I'll make things worse)?

Method 1: Uninstall Adobe Shockwave flash player.

Follow the steps provided in the following article and uninstall Adobe Shockwave flash player.

Or you can also uninstall a program from the Control Panel:

• Press Windows and x key to open a task list from the bottom left corner of the screen.
• Select Control Panel.
• Select Programs and Features.
• Double click on the program you want to uninstall and follow the onscreen instructions.

Method 2: Install latest version of Adobe Shockwave flash player and check.

Follow the steps provided in the following article to install latest version of Adobe Shockwave flash player. (Latest version)
