Windows 10: Shogun 2 never launches & always crashes on Windows 10

I have downloaded Total War: Shogun 2 off Steam. I have a Windows 10 Pro, updated from a Windows 7.It always crashes on the splash screen even though it meets the minimum system requirements. Other people have encountered a similar issue but the posted solutions I found did not work. I contacted the support for the game publisher but they were not able to resolve the issue, stating:"Total War Era :: Shogun 2 was released before Windows 10 were available and as such was never tested specifically these Windows OS Systems. Unfortunately this means we cannot guarantee it will run without issu

Total War: Shogun 2 not working windows 10

When I installed Shogun 2 this morning, I pressed play and then the game just automatically closed. When I select the benchmark options, the SEGA screen and the law stuff or whatever that is pops up for about 30 seconds, and then the game automatically
closes. Can somebody please help me fix Shogun 2 so I could play?

Shogun 2 is not compatible with Windows 10. Try running the game in compatibility mode and check. Also see if suggestion in this link helps.

Increase the window size step by step and watch your vga temps permanently.
What happens?
If it crashes, run at stock speeds as suggested before and retry.

P.S.: When your system locks, does the display signal turn off after a time?
Stuttering sound or no sound at all when freezing?
What X1800XT model do you own exactly?
