Windows 10: Shortcut for a file within a folder

to keep my desktop clean I group my apps into folders. I want to have a few shortcuts for my most used apps snd games. Now when assigning a shortcut via the properties screen the shortcut is only working while the folder in which the file is located is already opened. I could make a second shortcut to open the folder and just execute the shortcuts after each other but then the explorer would be running in the background until I close it and I don't want that, therefore I'd prefer to be able to just use the shortcut while on my desktop. Is this possible and if so, how? thanks :

I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

• Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
• Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
• Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
• Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.

Name the shortcut folder goes at the bottom of the list.

Make list of files in a folder

My impression is that what he wants is a list he can click on. To me that suggests creating one folder with shortcuts to the items in the various media folders.

And perhaps Motim wants that to be a dynamic list- i.e. always up to date with respect to changing content in those folders.

If so, this could be done using Autohotkey, with a script which scans through the files in each folder in turn and for each file use this command to create a shortcut:
