Windows 10: Shortcut icons not displayed in start menu when searching, how to fix? clearing iconcache...

Since ages my startmenu icons are broken and I had the hope that this will get fixed with some updates but its not happening.Even when I install new software, also from microsoft store, it does not display their icons properly.Some are displayed some dont and it really sucks.Ive noticed this only happens when I use searchbar to search screenshot 1,2 but not if I manually scroll to the programm as show in screenshot 3.I have already tried clearing the icon cache and restarting explorer but its still not working.Im using dual monitor with my main monitor on 200% scale.Screenshot 1:Screenshot 3

You generally set that via the Start Menu settings (right-click start menu -> properties).

I had that issues a while ago, and it meant removing it from the Start Menu, and reinstalling my browser to get the icon back, it was very odd.

Hey guys I need your help fixing the default access icon on the start menu, as far as google searches suggested default user access and all it only fixes the IE icon, but when I chose fire fox to display it's just a globe when clicked on it still displays IE's properties but doesn't start firefox instead. Help please? *Respect :respect:*Cry :cry:

BTW it was not like this before, I just wanted a clean install for my browser.

Hi, the answer is to use Classic Shell (free), often referred to here.

As I've commented many times in this forum, a hierarchically structured categorised start menu is not expressed correctly by the Win 10 start menu, which extracts shortcuts from subfolders and lists them alphabetically. The subfolders (or maybe sub-subfolders) vanish.

Classic Shell works as you'd expect, being extensively customisable, including its appearance and search feature.
