    Shortcut to explorer.exe File Explorer window doesn't display in dark mode


    I created a shortcut to File Explorer so it would open on the D:\ drive rather than the default, ieC:\Windows\explorer.exe D:\ and named it dexplorer.exe. When I click on the shortcut, File Explorer window opens with a dark top and a white file list and navigation bar. How come? explorer.exe opens completely in dark mode.

    Can anyone tell me how to enable dark mode in file explorer. I have turned my theme setting to dark but it doesn't affects the file explorer

    File explorer in dark theme gone!

    There was an option for choosing dark mode. I followed both suggestion above to the letter. But it did not fix the problem. Only Explorer is white. Which was the behavior before 1809.

    Dark mode for File Explorer is coming next version v1809 which will be released very soon.
