    shortcuts, some have disappeared


    Having just bought a new laptop i have been installing my apps and creating a homescreen shortcut for the main ones. However after only a couple of days, some of the shortcuts have disappeared, why would that be.

    Desktop shortcuts disappearing

    One of the computers i maintain has a few of the desktop shortcuts disappearing now and then. It runs windows 7, and has a shitload of shortcuts on the desktop.

    Any idea what might cause this?

    I would suggest you to try the following steps and check if that helps.

    • Go to the folder C:\Windows\System32 and sort by file type.
    • Look for the screensaver file type (.scr).
    • Find the file scrnsave.scr(you can choose any of the screensavers).
    • Right click and select send to>desktop (create shortcut). The shortcut on my attachment, but when i click on it my screen goes off and on and nothing else.shortcuts, some have disappeared :)
