  1. Should Create a Disk Image save free space on a drive?

Why is it that when I create a disk image of ssd C drive in Windows 7 the size is close to the whole disk 110 GB rather than just the used part which is 80 GB?This is even when the process says "The backup could take up to 80 GB of disk space".Thanks for any advice.

    :)

W10: Cannot create system image and save it to storage spaces drive?

    Hello.

I'm trying to create a system image (Control Panel\System and Security\Backup and Restore (Windows 7) -> Create a system image), however my storage spaces drive is not listed in the available selection to save the image to.
Why is that and what can do about that?

    Thank you.

  3. Fix Disk Space Error 0x80780119 when creating System Image

I have plenty of free space on all the drives which I wish to create the system image on. Anywhere from 500 GB on my internal drive to 4.0 Terrabytes on the other two external USB drives.

    Help, cant create windows image

    Hello there, @fullinfusion!

It seems like some sort of an OS confusion has happened with your secondary WD Black and I'm sorry to hear about that. *Frown Should Create a Disk Image save free space on a drive? :(
Maybe re-formatting it would help indeed as the community already mentioned. I'd suggest to take a look at this step-by-step how to partition and format an HDD: http://products.wdc.com/support/kb.ashx?id=PYCoid
Keep in mind that this will wipe clean the drive, so you should backup all important data from the drive somewhere else.
I noticed from the screenshots that your HDD appears as Disk 0, this means that it's plugged in the primary SATA port where the SSD (as an OS drive) should be. Actually it is possible that because of this Windows cannot create the image there. Swap the ports of the SSD and the HDD, this might help as well.

Keep me posted. Hope this helped! *Smile Should Create a Disk Image save free space on a drive? :)
