Should i add a system restore point on my d drive?

Hello i would like to ask if i should add a system restore point on my d drive, it has my user folders in it because i transferred the user folders from my c drive to my d drive since my d drive has more space. Should I add a system restore point here? And when i do restore, can i use both system restore points for my c and d drive or can you only use 1 system restore point from a single drive. What happens to my user folders in the d drive if I only restore my c drive? please answer

    :)

How to delete inactive System Image Restore Points in System Restore

    Windows 10 64-bit.
When I click "show more restore points" in System Restore I see a bunch of old "system image restore points" that were deleted in past and do not correspond to any currently active restore points. Clicking any of these old restore points, I simply get an error message saying they could not be found, and to select another restore point instead.I would like to delete these restore points listings but have been unable to do so.
So far, I have tried steps mentioned below without any luck :

Disk Cleanup through (CShould i add a system restore point on my d drive? :) Properties
Disable System Protection (OFF and ON) in System Protection for OS (CShould i add a system restore point on my d drive? :)
Disk Space Usage to minimum (slider button all the way to the left then 'Delete all restore points for this drive'),
Delete all shown Restore points in CCleaner (the problem ones do not show here),
Reset Windows Backup to Default in Windows 10 with 'Reset_Windows_Backup.bat' utility.

    Any suggestions highly welcome.

  3. How To Create A System Restore Point On My "D" Drive

Hi, I have a Lenovo Yoga with a 256 GB "C" SSD that has a 26 GB "D" Drive. I am guessing that the D drive is a partition of the main drive. I cannot figure out how to create my System Restore points using the D drive. The Windows OS automatically defaults
to the C drive. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    System restore points are lost

    Hi Tom,

I understand the frustration when Restore points are lost.

Restore points are saved until the disk space System Restore reserves is filled up. As new restore points are created, old ones are deleted. If you turn off system protection (the feature that creates restore points) on a disk, all restore points are deleted
from that disk. When you turn system protection back on, new restore points are created.

Perform steps mentioned below and see if it helps.

    a: Press Windows key + X.

    b: Then click Command prompt(Admin)

    Type Vssadmin list shadowstorage
c: Take note of what the shadow storage allocation is on the drive you're having issues with.

d: Change the allocation by using the Vssadmin command, syntax:
vssadmin resize shadowstorage /On=C: /For=C: /Maxsize=1G (where Maxsize=the amount of disk space you've allocated to System Restore points. In my case it was 20 GB

e: In the case of the C: drive, the syntax would be VSSAdmin resize shadowstorage /On=C: /For=C: /Maxsize =20G, after increasing the size and rebooting my restore points were still intact and no longer being deleted.

Please revert if you have any issues with Windows in future.
