Windows 10: Should I enable/disable Core Isolation in Device Security?

Is Core Isolation in Device Security just for locked-down enterprise screens? Or does it provide meaningful security for a home/student user? I've read conflicting reports. So please describe your experience if you have an answer.From benchmarks I've seen, there can be a noticeable loss of performance with some applications when it is enabled.

It can be the BIOS update released by your manufacturer through windows updates which might have changed the status from Enabled to disabled. However here are the steps to enable it again.

• Open start menu and search for Windows Defender Security Center.
  
• Go to Device Security.
  
• You will be able to find Core Isolation, please click on Core Isolation details.
  
• Then you can turn it on.
  

Restart is restart is required for the changes to be effective. Please write back, if you need any further assistance.

Windows Security / Device security / Core isolation - Incompatible

Sooo, I can't seem to turn on Windows 10 Pro 20H2 19042.1052 - Windows Security / Device security / Core isolation because my Intel graphics drivers on my Surface Pro 3 are not compatible. *Confused





Windows Update is all up to date and there are no optional updates.

Anyone using newer drivers or drivers that allow this?

 

Cannot Turn On Core Isolation Memory Integrity in Settings

Not able to perform steps in Option 1
Under "Windows Defender Security Center", "Device Security" is not an option.
Winver reports Version 1709 (OS build 16299 402)
The processor is Intel I3
Virtualization is enabled in system BIOS.


Please advise.
