Windows 10: Should I replace thermal paste?

Hi, a few weeks ago I fixed up my mothers laptop, upgrading to newer ram and upgrading to ssd.After I initially took it apart, I noticed one issue it never had before, after I took it apart, upgraded the parts and cleaned out the dust, the laptop has started heating up, my mom said there didn't used to be a problem with it prior to me taking it apart and upgrading parts other than the pc beginning to freeze up randomly for a few minutes to a few hours, I replaced the ram back to the og and kept the ssd because the hdd no longer worked, and it still heated up.Is this because of the thermal past

Best thermal paste

Most decent thermal paste is about all the same (1-2 degree difference). Without knowing the two listed, (I use MX-2), I would suggest going with the one that is non-conductive.

 

Replace thermal paste regularly

Well i replace my thermal paste every 9 months(Well you can call me a thermal paste specialist*Cool )

When the thermal paste gets dry or evaporated then you CPU reaches high temps!
I will suggest to check(and replace it if it is dry or evaporated) every 10-12 month but if you live in hot places like India i will suggest to do it every 9 months*Toast :toast:
Well your GPU also needs thermal paste to cool up!*Cool

Well i could made my video for How to remove old thermal paste and install a new coat but i don't have a tripod and no one to hold the camera for me but anyway i searched on youtube and i found this video is the best(The video is at the end of the post) and i will say you must not use normal tissue paper! and the video is demonstrated on a i7 2600K however you can use a different company for the thermal paste but i will recommend to use Artic Silver 5 and for the cleaning solution you can use any cleaning solution !*Big Grin

For the Core i7, I suggest drawing a 7 with thermal paste. For the core i5, a 5.
