Windows 10: Should I transfer my Upgrade or Clean Install?

Discus and support Should I transfer my Upgrade or Clean Install? in Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade to solve the problem; I have read that link but it only mentions doing a Verify File System on the source disk before it starts the clone. No verification on the target disk... Discussion in 'Windows 10 Installation and Upgrade' started by invictus, Sep 28, 2015.

Sorry, I rushed that one and they are indeed talking about a different kind of verification there. I didn't find something suitably explicit yet but could go into Macrium when I get home from work and check it out directly.

EDIT: Right, so yes, I was missing the important distinction between "Auto Verify" per se and "Verify" (more like chkdsk, let's say) in the Macrium context. I imagine in Macrium, cloning and imaging being totally different animals, verify and, in a sense, forensic sector copying, are as far as it goes in assuring an exact clone.

Alright so I analyzed the disk in Reflect. I'm not sure if I should stick with my clone or format the drive and make an image of the original, because once this entire process is complete I won't have any backup media except for my 1tb drive.

You could make a second partition on the 1tb drive and save an image of the 2tb drive to a single image file on the extra partition on the 1tb drive, if you are that concerned about it. Then when you can, get a second drive (preferably USB) for backup purposes.
