  1. Should Notification Center examine the type of App before showing 'Pin to Start' button?

    Hi Microsoft,

I am a software engineer Bill from ELAN company. I developed an app 'Elan PointStick Settings' on Microsoft Store.

    Store Link: https://www.microsoft.com/store/apps/9NXCPWGB0BFX

This app is a partner settings app, and it doesn't show in the all apps list of Start Menu as my design.

The only entry to access this app is Settings>>Devices>>Mouse and a link within the Mouse page. I utilized the technique shown in the article 'Launch the Windows Settings app'.

Recently, my customer found once the app was automatically downloaded from Store, the Notification Center showed two buttons, 'Launch' and 'Pin to Start' for my app. 'Launch' was ok to open the app, but 'Pin to Start' didn't work.

Of course the 'Pin to Start' didn't work, because my app is a partner settings app. According to the document, it said "Note that this package cannot have an entry in the all apps list. To accomplish this, set the AppListEntry property to none."

Because the 'Pin to Start' button doesn't apply to those apps that don't show in Start Menu, I suggest the Microsoft designers for Notification Center consider to remove the 'Pin to Start' for those partner settings apps, in case the end users get confused.

    :)
