Windows 10: Should Windows Update also provide Office 365 updates too?

    Should Windows Update also provide Office 365 updates too?


    Even though I have the 'Give me updates for other Microsoft Products...' option checked within Windows Updates, I've never had any updates offered for Office 365. (I always have to do an update check from within one of the Office programs).

    Is this 'normal' please?

    Yes, but Office 365 updates in particular are not automatic, you should be prompted for a new update.

    In the mean time, follow the instructions in the following article, deferring updates I notice also blocks Office 365 updates:

    Based on the information you have provided, have you tried updating Office 365? If not, please try to update it and see if it has the same issue. If not, provide us with the current version of your Windows 10 and Office 365 so that we can replicate the issue.

    My official subscription is to 'Office 365', but yes it's Office 2016 on my laptop...the update settings there are correct.

    But my point is: why aren't updates for Office suites downloaded automatically as part of Windows Update?
