Windows 10: Show Location of Mouse Pointer when pressing Ctrl

Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key is not working anymore in Windows 11

For a few months now, the Show pointer location when I press the CTRL key feature has stopped working on my Windows 11 computer.

The setting is still available under Settings > Bluetooth & Devices > Mouse > Additional mouse settings | tabointer Options > Visibility > Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL Key.

I disabled it, clicked Apply, and restart, then re enabled it again, click apply and restart, and it is still not working.

Anybody could help me with this?

Just a wild shot: you don't have the "Show location pointer when I press the CTRL key" enabled under mouse settings in the control panel do you? That's the only possible reason I could think of, but still unlikely.

I have three monitors so that feature is very useful to me. As I was trying to use it today, I realized it wasn't working. I checked and saw that the option was still enabled. I did disable it, apply and re-enabled it.

The current options show "Display pointer trails" set to Long, "Hide pointer while typing" checked, and "Show location of pointer when I press the CTRL key" checks. In the Motion section, "Enhance pointer precision" is also checked. I have Microsoft cordless keyboard/mouse combo I use for my laptop. Pressing the CTRL key on the cordless keyboard or the laptop keyboard have the same result: no "sonar" from the mouse pointer.

I don't have any beautification of anything, let alone a cursor beautification app, nor did my antivirus change in anyway other than for virus signatures. I saw that the issue was reported for Windows 11 with no real attempt at explaining other than blaming external causes.
