Show storage space in This PC

I am really missing the ability to easily see how much storage space is left on each of my drives. Why is this not easily seen just by opening "This PC" like it was in Windows 7. It seems like I have to click on properties in order to see disk usage. Any way to get around this?

    :)

  2. Can't add third drive to existing storage space.

I have a simple storage space made up of two identical 300GB internal drives. I purchased a third identical drive and put it in my pc. It shows up in the bios correctly, it shows up in device manager correctly, and it shows up on my pc correctly. However,
when I try to add it to my storage space it does not appear as one of the options. I have no clue on this one so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

  3. Storage issue

My PC shows I am now out of hard drive storage space. Settings is showing 358 GB classified as "other." However, when adding the storage space each folder in using, it adds up to less than one GB. I cannot seem to locate the 350+ GB usage. Any suggestions
to locate the files or programs using this space, and how to manage it?

Open windows explorer (should be that little folder icon on the taskbar if you haven't gotten rid of it). Once opened select "This PC" from the left hand side. It should give you what you're looking for. Now I just need to figure out how to have it bring me here by default....

  5. OK, I just figured out how to get it to bring you to "This PC" be default. Open windows explorer as before, and go to "View" at the top. Select "Options" on the far right. Under the "General" tab (selected by default) there is a drop down menu at the top. Use that to select "This PC" Now every time you open windows explorer, it will give you the over view of your disk drives! This actually makes me quite happy, because I didn't realize how much it was bugging me till I looked into it. lol.

I can't get This PC to show the storage space bars for my drives and I've done all that's been suggested in this thread.
Any ideas why I might not be able to make the storage space bars show?

  11. Make sure you have the "Tiles" option selected in the "View" tab.

  15. what?!?! When you selected "Content" yours now shows the "Details"..... ok.... try this.
Push and hold the "Atl" key for about 2 seconds while this windows is active. It should bring up some little letters and numbers.

With those letters up type the letter "V" and the "L". This will give your keyboard access to that little selection window. See if you can move the selection to where it needs to be.... perhaps there is something wrong with the cursor selection on your pc??? Oh, and don't forget to press "Enter" to select it.
