Show thumbnails in OneDrive folders without disabling Files On Demand?

Is there any way to make thumbnails work in OneDrive folders without disabling Files On Demand?

I would like thumbnails for my videos to appear, however the only way I have heard that let's me do this is to disable "Files On Demand" which will download every single file in my OneDrive. The "Videos" folder has "Always keep on this device" checked since I want to keep a local copy of my videos, however I don't want to download my entire OneDrive folder since I don't have enough local storage space for everything in it one of the reasons I use OneDrive in the first place, I use it as a backup for other things I don't need local copies of.

Is there any other way to make thumbnails appear for always-on-device files without having to download everything?

PS. It's strange that picture thumbnails always show but video thumbnails do not....

    :)

OneDrive, files on demand, and thumbnails

When "Files on demand" is enabled, I can't see the file thumbnails in folders inside OneDrive, even if the file is actually downloaded. How can I fix this?

  3. OneDrive, files on demand, and thumbnails

Hello, my name is Gabriel S. I hope to help you today.

    try the following:

Go to the taskbar and right-click on the OneDrive icon

    Select more

A new window will open where you need to click on the Settings tab

Disable the files on demand services

Restart your PC and see if you can now see all the thumbnails properly.

    Greetings.

  4. Show thumbnails in OneDrive folders without disabling Files On Demand?

Unable to disable OneDrive file on-demand

Same problem. I'm trying to disable files on demand in OneDrive to see my thumbnails again, but the option re-checks itself after a pop-up informing me that "files will be stored on the device now". I looked all over the internet for a solution - no luck.

Oh and the registry key option doesn't work for me either.
