  1. 'Show windows stacked' applies the stacking layout across all virtual desktops

In Windows 10 21H1 build 19043.985, 'Show windows stacked' from the Taskbar stacks windows across all virtual desktops.Let's say you have four windows opened -- two on virtual desktop 1, and two on virtual desktop 2. When selecting 'Show windows stacked', on virtual desktop 1, the two windows will be stacked one on top of another on the left side of the screen not using the entire width, and on virtual desktop 2, the two windows will be stacked on the right side of the screen. The algorithm seems to be stacking them in positions that they would be if they were all on the same virtual deskto

Bug: "Cascade windows", "Show windows stacked" and "Show windows side by side" using multiple virtual desktops

    Try the following:

    • Open a few windows
    • Create a new desktop (Ctrl + Win + D)
    • Open a few windows there too
    • Right click the taskbar, choose "Show windows stacked" (or any of the other options mentioned in the title)

    Expected behaviour:

    • The visible windows are stacked

    Actual behaviour:

    • All windows are stacked,

not just the visible ones on the current desktop, but the ones on the other desktop as well

what's more: the windows on the other desktop are taken into account while stacking, leaving gaps on the current desktop where windows are on the other one.

I think anyone with Windows 10 should be able to reproduce this. If not, I could supply some images.

  3. "Show windows Stacked Side by Side" In windows 10 is different. Can it be changed back?

    Hello,

I am also struggling with the Show windows stacked and with Show windows Side by side commands.

    Main problems:

    - command reorganizes windows on all screens, regardless on which screen it has been called. Behaviour is inconsistent in a way, that it stacks / sides windows in that screen, in which they originally were (correct), but it should not apply to all screens,
but only to the one where the command was called.

    - when using multiple desktops in windows 10, all windows in all desktops (for the particular screen) are taken into account when computing layout, which results in weird results making an impression there must be some invisible windows.

Example: two virtual desktops, two windows on one, two on the other (on the same screen). When setting windows stacked or side by side, windows are always arranged into that particular screen quadrants, even though the logic would say "take into account
only windows on the active desktop + active screen to organize layout" and result should be two windows sharing the screen 50% by 50%.

Unfortunately the result is that on one desktop you have two tiles in two random quadrants, while on the other desktop you have windows arranged in remaining two quadrants, even you originally had no intention to arrange also second desktop layout.

Would be nice to get this feature working only on that screen and on that desktop where it was called, as at the moment it renders unusable for multiple screens/desktops.
