Bad day at Badrock for my system yesterday and this morning as seen below. This morning we had a unusual power blink for some reason and my system rebooted. Yesterday I performed the Store updates as seen in the last group below. I like to reboot afterwards only to get a message that a program won't close to do so. I forget which one, but it had to do with part of shutting Windows down. Hmm. I goes to seek a solution and the only one I could find was a Registry hack which I shy from. Anywho, I decided to check the Windows image health first with Command Prompt > Dism /Online /Cleanup-Image /CheckHealth which came back with no corruption, the a sfc/ scannow leaving it run before I went to bed. When I got up the machine showed it rebooted to the splash screen and didn't sleep because of it. Ugh! Running it now to see what's up.

    Hippsie here's my check list:
    • SFC/DISM
    • Manuel time sync in Date & Time in the CPL
    • WSReset
    • Open up Task Schedular and run these:

    Thanks, Cliff. *Smile

    Ran these. All is ok.

Time is ok. System is auto synced with Time.Windows.Com.

Ran this. The store opens. Is that all it does or does it indeed reset the Store cache?

Ended up finding your shortcut post here: WSReset Shortcut - Windows 10 Forums Thanks for that. I pinned a tile to Start screen menu. *Wink

Found that License Validation task wasn't even enabled. Enabled and ran it. WSTask was enabled, but not running so I ran it. These two are scheduled to run at 6:00 am. This may be too early for sometimes I'm up later. Should I reschedule?

One my system if I (PEBCAK) mess around with something or my router settings the time sync needs to be manually check. But it is also known the nist.gov is better than time.windows. But 10 hasn't been out long enough for me to see which synchronizes better on 10. Not yet*Smile

    @Cliff S

Ok, thanks. I just thought it weird that it opened a blank Command Prompt and the Store shortly afterwards. Something new to me. Usually there's a dialogue box or similar that states the results of an execution.

Ok, but how can that be if the task was disabled? Doesn't it need to be enabled in order to run? When disabled there is no "Run" option on the drop-down context menu with a right click. After enabling there was a "Run" option and did run it.

Sorry, but I don't want the government involved with my system. I'll stick with MS. Of course they both spy on us anyway so it might not make any difference. *Wink

    I have always seen that.

Oh I forgot, sorry, I enabled mine a while ago. "Then does it really do any thing if Microsoft disables it by default?" one might ask, My answer: "No idea but I turned mine on!"

At least the gov'ment doesn't try to take over my 'puter like Microsoft is doing. It's reached a new low: http://news.softpedia.com/news/windo...s-492521.shtml

Hi I think this is a great tool and can really help, but some times there's just a hic- up and not much to worry about.
Having said that, I think it's a great tool and can be very helpful.
Here's mine. I rolled my PC back to W7 after upgrading to W10. Just didn't care for W10 that much. I'll probably upgrade to W10 again in the future!

Much better today after fixes I performed yesterday. Ran WSReset yesterday only to find I couldn't open the MS Store apps (save the Store app which took a long time to open) as seen in the black tiles with exclamation points on them below. Not quite sure if it was WSReset that did this or what.

I found that after opening the Store I could search for them and then reinstall the corrupted apps.

All others working and working better except the Photos app today. Although no black tile, I get a message that it wouldn't open, so back to the Store again to reinstall. Works again.

Did that "power blink" maybe happen when the store was updating the broken apps? WSReset doesn't corrupt, it only clears the cache and fixes, Maybe it freed up a process to show that they were botched? I usually use it when a live tile isn't refreshing, like when the weather app tile shows the temps from 3 hours ago or calendar doesn't show the date..

Thanks, Cliff. Although still guessing, it could be that the power blink caused some or all problems, but was just cruising the forum was all. Maybe had my Mail app open at the time as well. Not sure. All in all a shutdown such as that is never good of course. In the end I learned a few things, which is always a good thing.

All is almost perfect here so I created a Restore point. *Smile

BTW, not sure what those Edge warnings are. It didn't seem to have any problems and was/is running well.

  14. That's actually very stable for a Windows 10 install.

Mine's becoming stable now as well:
