    Windows 10 update - blue screen with spinning dots

    My computer installed an update yesterday. I turned it on this morning, and the machine has been showing a blue screen with spinning dots all day. Clearly something is wrong. Ctrl+Alt+Del does nothing. I think that last major update was 1803, so perhaps
    this is a new update?

    Can you help?

    Anniversary Edition no spinning dots at restart/shutdown


    No, None of my computers are showing the spinning dots, on a restart or shutdown. The dots only appear when the computers are first turned on.


    It's not causing a problem, but at first when no dots were there, I thought for at least 20 seconds that the computers were locked up. I like the spinning dots to show me that the computer is working !

    Freezes at Blue Windows logo (no dots)

    I've got what appears to be a common problem where my computer occasionally freezes at the blue windows logo upon startup, without any spinning dots. If I power down and reboot it loads fine. I've turned off the fast startup, and unplugged any external USB
    drives that would have a backup, which seem to be the two most common suggestions.

    Let me know if you need any specific information regarding my PC. Thanks.
