Showing my pictures from my Windows 10 Destop PC to my 55"OLED Livingroom TV

    Hello,

I am having trouble being able to display my pictures from my desktop computer to my livingroom TV.

Recently I added a bunch of pictures to My Pictures folder on my windows 10 PC from my phone. I tried to access them through the photo/video app on the TV. I have a wifi home network. I pressed the Home button on the TV remote and selected the photo/video app. Then I selected the storage device & selected the folder I wanted to view the pictures from. Instead of showing the pictures, the screen said: No photo, video files or folders exist in storage device. I know this not to be true. I also attempted to view the photo's through the media option of the menu of my Dish Network remote. I went to the device tab, where my Desktop computer was listed. I selected pictures and other sub folders to get to the folder I wanted to view, and itshowed the path I took to the folder I wanted, but it was not a link and itdidn't bring up the photo's.

I also tried this with my laptop computer. It did show photo's,but they did not give an option to view them full screen or an option to go to the next one without closing the current picture and opening the next one from the left side of the screen. I have used the method of going through the Dish remote menu successfully before, though I'm not sure if it was with my current TV or my previous LG Plasma TV. I checked both of my computers to have network and sharing turned on as well as media streamimg. I also turned off the Windows firewall for my private network.

I sent this description to my TV manufacturer/LG, and they responded by giving me a list of file formats that would work with the TV. The one my pictires are formatted in are .jpg, which was one of the formats they listed. Then I called LG and described everything again, and I was told that it's not a TV problem. That it's a computer problem.

The TV is able to see My Pictures folder and all it's sub-folders from both my Desktop and laptop computers, but does not display the photo's from my Desktop computer. Please help! Thanks!!!

    :)

Showing my pictures from my Windows 10 Destop PC to my 55"OLED Livingroom TV

Quick Access not searching Pictures folder

Summary, that last suggestion didn't work.

    • I moved the pictures to another folder temporarily.

    • Since there were no troubleshooting steps for this scenario, just for the heck of it, I ran through the restore steps. Copied some pictures into the Pictures folder, ran a Quick Access search and initial problem remains: Searching all of QA doesn't find any files in Pictures folder, running search on just the Pictures folder does. I want to run a global search and find matching files in any/all of the Documents, Music, Videos, and Pictures folders.
That article dates from 2015 and I'm guessing is out of date. I hope it didn't create potential future problems in my registry.

Bottom line: I'm still looking for a fix.
