Windows 10: Shut down computer after set time instead of sleep?

I would like my computer to shut down after a set amount of time of inactivity, similar to how it can be set to go to sleep. I know that you can set it to shut down at the same time every day via Task Scheduler, and I know you can also set it to shut down via a command prompt shutdown –s –t, but I don't want either of these. These require you to set a specific time for it to shut down either a daily reoccurring time or a specific amount of time from when the command is sent and what I want it to do is shut down automatically after not being used for say an hour or so. Computer shuts down instead of going in to sleep mode

Since two weeks my Dell laptop is shutting down every time when:

• Closing the laptop
• Pressing the power button short
• Manually via the Start Menu

All these options are set to Sleep Mode and not Shut Down.

 

Computer Shutting Off Instead of Sleeping

Since October (the October update, I think), my computer is shutting down instead of sleeping. Trouble shooter or other solutions I have found here not working. (Reason #465 I wish I could have control over these awful updates.)

Suggestions?

Computer shuts down when put to sleep

When I close the lid of my new laptop, it shuts down instead of staying in sleep mode. I've triple checked that the computer is set to Sleep (NOT Shut Down) when the lid is closed. It seems to Sleep for a short time, then Shut Down. Battery at 90%, so that
isn't the issue. I got the computer a week ago, and have checked done all available updates. I've also disabled Fast Start Up as a suggested fix. I've run the Troubleshooter as well, and it found no problems. This is really frustrating. Any help would be
greatly appreciated. Thanks.
