    Random shut down and restart??

    Computer: Intel (R) Pentium (R) Dual cpu
    E220@2.406hz
    2.42 GHZ, 2.00 GB of RAM
    Windows xp

    Ever since I replaced the fan (with heat sink) the computer has randomly shut down and then restarted, at first during streaming, and now, will shut down and restart anytime. I tried to replace the graphics card to no avail. *Confused Shut down my PC when I received a scam warning from "Microsoft ".     One suggestion was to replace the RAM.

    Shutdown and Restart with no warning.

    Hi Steve,

    User profile corruption is one of the possible reasons why your computer keeps on shutting down. To troubleshoot the issue, we suggest creating a new user account and see if the same issues will occur on a different user profile. To do this, simply follow
    the steps below:

    • Select the Start button, then select Settings > Accounts > Family & other people >Add
      someone else to this PC      .
    • Enter a user name, password, password hint, and then select Next.

    Once done with the steps, let us know how it goes so we can assist you further.
