Windows 10: Shut down option Not working. It's locking the screen instead.

Hi everyone. I recently upgraded to Windows 11 not activated for now and when I try to shut the system down it just takes me to the lock screen. I have tried different methods that exist to shut down the system through GUI but every method just takes me to the lock screen instead of shutting the system down. The only method that works is using the shutdown /s command in CMD. Please help me or I will just have to go back to windows 10. Thank you so much. System specs: i5 10400RTX 307016GB DDR4MSI H410M PRO-VH motherboard.

Lock screen issue

  Go to Settings>>Personalization>>Lock Screen.

  In the right panel, select Picture instead of Windows Spotlight.

Lock Screen Image Too Big

• Is this issue occurs only when the pictures are set from OneDrive?

I suggest you to set the picture for the lock screen using the default lock screen pictures and check whether the issue persist or not, follow the below steps to set the pictures.

• Go to “settings” and click on “personalization”.
• Under “lock screen” tab, select the option from the drop box as “picture”.
• Then under “choose your picture” option, click on any picture and go to the lock screen, check whether the issue persists or not.

no sleep option in lock screen


sorry if this has been asked before, but i couldn't find anything about a missing sleep option from the lock screen, only a shut down option.

i recently had to reinstall windows 10 (home), and since i've reinstalled, i've lost my sleep option from the lock screen. i can only tell the computer to sleep from the start menu. when i do lock my computer, the only buttons i have are network, ease of access, and to shut down. there's not even a restart option.

is there a way to add the restart/sleep back in? multiple people live here, so i don't want them being able to access my computer while i'm away at work, and i'd prefer to not have to completely shut down after each session.
