Windows 10: Shutup10 not able to stop Windows 10 from auto-updating?

Discus and support Shutup10 not able to stop Windows 10 from auto-updating? in Windows 10 Ask Insider to solve the problem; I have windows 10 auto-update disabled through shutup10 but it doesn't have any effect at all.     Shutup10 not able to stop Windows 10 from auto-updating?


    I have windows 10 auto-update disabled through shutup10 but it doesn't have any effect at all. Every time I reboot, the setting keeps getting reverted and windows 10 still downloads the updates and it gives me the a restart is required for X program to take effect notification....

    I open shutup10 and it shows me that there has been changes made to windows and the "disable windows update" function is disabled.. Is there any permanent solution to this? Even if I turn it on, windows finds a way to disable this setting.

    @GLD What you want is the free O&O ShutUp10 which turns off all this crap and is user configurable. I'm surprised that no one has suggested it yet. Been running it on my Windows 10 for months and it's great.

    Classic Shell is also great for getting back a proper Start menu.
