I'm attempting to install some software (namely sage accounts ) on a fresh install of windows 10 pro.
After installation (which appears to be successful) I receive the "error side by side configuration incorrect " when trying to run the app ..
I have googled the hell out of this and only find threads suggesting deleting all c++ versions and re installing.
Like this guide here :

I have tried several re installs of the software and following the above guide to no avail.. can anyone suggest a fix for this please ??

We would like to know first what is the side by side configuration you are pertaining to? Can we have a screenshot of this interface? In this way, we will have atleast an idea what you are talking about.

Anyway, there is a tool that prepares your computer to become compatible with the recent
Windows Update. The DISM (System Update Readiness tool) can scan and troubleshoot corrupted files generated during the update to make your computer to run applications
normally again. This can be used either on before or after updating Windows 10.

The DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Restorehealth command will
provide or recover operating files that your computer requires. It is also meant to fix data corruptions. You can find more details about this on this link:

Disclaimer: Before you proceed, we suggest that you back up your data just in case you lose any of your files while troubleshooting the issue.

I've spent many many hours trying to fix Sage install errors, I've found if the install messes up then and you get the dos window saying there is a configuration problem the only way to go it wipe the machine and start again.

Even with pro uninstall tools sage seems to leave something somewhere that makes all subsequent re-installs fail if the first one did, any new machines now I always make sure Sage goes on before anything else so not to waste my time if it needs reloading.
