Windows 10: Sign In Background Not Changing

I have updated my lock screen image and selected to have the same image to be shown on the sign in screen but everytime I sign in it is the same image. I think is it a spotlight image as it is nothing I would have previously choosen. I restarted the computer right after I changed it. I selected different images, unselected the box and reselected it in case it was not registering that I selected it, I made sure the computer has all the updates, not just the nesacary ones. When I try locking the computer the image comes up correctly, it is only when I am at the sign in screen that the image is

Changing the background scene on the sign-in screen

Windows 10 lets you use the lock screen picture as the background picture of the sign-in screen. For you to change the picture on your sign-in screen, you need to change your
Lock screen picture first, see steps below:

• Go to the Settings, then Personalization.
• Under Background section, click on the drop down and choose
  Picture.
• Select Lock screen, under Choose your picture section, click on
  Browse and select your desired picture.
• Make sure to turn on the Show lock screen background picture on the sign-in screen option.

• Have you made any changes on the computer prior to the issue?
• Are you referring to desktop background image or lock screen image?

I suggest you to follow the below steps to change the background picture and check if it helps.

• In the search type as ‘Settings’ and click on it.
• Select ‘Personalization’, under ‘Background’ option select as ‘Picture’.
• Under ‘Choose your picture’ select any picture accordingly or you can browse the picture from your computer.

Can You Change the Sign In Background Color in Windows 11?

Your suggestions make a lot of sense and it is a great idea and I wish I had thought of it!

However, after doing all of steps a couple of times it still reverts to the black background on the sign-in screen

While the Windows Spotlight was a nice feature, I really didn't like the black background on the sign-screen and

and I am now using the same picture for both that I like.

I can live without the Windows Spotlight feature and the right background on the sign-in screen is more important to me.

Thank you for the possible workaround and letting my know that Windows doesn't allow for you to change the background on the

sign-in screen independently of the Lock Screen.
