  1. Sign in screen ignoring my password the first time I enter it and returning to the home screen

To sign in I select my account from the list of user accounts at the bottom left of the sign-in screen. and then enter my password as requested.

If I enter the wrong password it will tell me that.

If I enter the correct password it will display that little circle of moving dots and "Welcome" as it does whatever's necessary, and then takes me into my account.

However, occasionally after entering my password it just goes back to the home screen I think that's what it's called ? The one with just a full-screen picture and a big digital clock. The one you get after turning the computer on, but before going to the sign in screen

Note that since it often takes a while for Windows to sign me in over 10 seconds, usually less than I minute I usually walk away from the computer after entering my password. I expect to come back and see either my desktop if I typed my password correctly, or the incorrect password warning if I didn't.

Any ideas why this is happening ?

Note: I have already turned off the "Use my sign-in information to automatically finish setting up my device after an update or restart" switch for each user account as mentioned towards the end of my That pesky "Other people are still using this computer" warning when I try to shut down topic

Computer details in brief: Personal not company Dell Inspiron 15R N1150 laptop built-in NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M with Windows 10 Home 64-bit Version 2004, build 19041.450. Hacked - new Enter Password screen - after windows sign in screen

A "friends" Windows 10 got hacked. He allowed remote access and now is locked out. The Windows sign in screen comes up and he can sign in but the a new window pops up and asks for password. Maybe a BIOS password? How get I fix this? I can boot to repair options with a win 10 install DVD, tried restore points but they all fail . Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!!!

  3. Unable to enter password in bios screen

This method takes advantage of the backdoors built by manufacturers. The default passwords for specific vendors have been available for some time.

    Here's How:

    1. Switch on your PC and enter a wrong password three or more times.

    2. A message will display an alert that says your system is disabled or the password failed.

    3. The message will also include a number. Note the number as it will help you generate the BIOS backdoor password.

    4. Open the BIOS Master Password Generator page on another computer or smartphone.

    5. Enter the number you saw on the BIOS screen. Click the Get password button to see a list of computer models and passwords. Try the password that is for a machine closest to yours.

    6. Reboot your machine to the BIOS password screen and enter the password.

You can always call up customer support and give them the number that came up on the alert screen.

different lock screen and sign in screen?

Step 2b is labeled as Change the Login Screen Image, but the steps show you how to change the Lock Screen image. Step 2a is irrelevant. It only tells you how to change the desktop background.

    What I want to do:
Set Spotlight as the LOCK Screen Image(s) - Done
Set the Win 10 Hero Image as the SIGN IN Screen Image - This is the one that shows after you click on the lock screen and you are able to type your password. If I uncheck "Show Lock Screen Image on Sign In Screen", it shows a solid blue background behind my Password box and user image. This is what I want to change to the Hero Image....
